Let me Re-Introduce myself: I’m Dr. Kristine Garverick CRNP

I wanted to take a moment and reintroduce myself to you and why I left my OB/ GYN practice to focus on wellness and mindset by teaching clients how to fuel their body without deprivation or hunger, boost their energy, find peace with food, and move their body more.

I'm Kristine Garverick. My professional journey began a few (well many lol) years ago becoming a Registered Nurse then receiving my Masters Degree as a Certified Nurse Practitioner specializing in Women's Health for over 25 years. The top health concerns were the frustration so many women felt with the struggles with their health, weight, diet, fatigue, and stress.

My patients repeatedly had these complaints: " I keep gaining weight." I can't keep the weight off." " I don't have time to exercise." I don't have any time to myself." I don't feel like myself anymore." I am so overwhelmed I don't know where to start."

I became frustrated in my role that I couldn't spend the time I knew my patients needed to focus on prevention and education to live a healthy lifestyle by focusing on their lifestyle behaviors. So I decided to go back to school again and earned my Doctorate in Nursing (along side my husband, Neal- who BTW does DOT CDL Physicals at 6 North Baltimore Street. Check out his website: www.NRGhealthDPC.com).

During my education, I researched how lifestyle behaviors affect specifically the cardiovascular health of women and how implementing changes to improve our lifestyle behaviors decreased the risk for hypertension, high cholesterol, and diabetes.

Oh- I did deviate a bit and opened a local Makers Market where I showcased many local artists. I enjoyed meeting so many wonderful local artists and our local community members.

After completing my Doctorate and closing the Makers Market, this was the beginning of Be Well & Good- my Lifestyle Medicine Practice. I work typically with women who struggle with their weight, fatigue, lack of motivation, feelings of being overwhelmed, stuck in a sedentary lifestyle, and just feeling hopeless.

Be Well & Good

Here is a more personal glimpse: My health journey has been nothing but a roller coaster. I am sure many of you can relate. My own lifestyle behaviors were affecting my health.

I've dieted, but always felt restricted. I'd even binge on foods I knew would be "off limits" before starting my diet.

I've joined gyms and worked with personal trainers that definitely whipped me into shape, but I couldn't sustain the results.

Maybe it's my age and the phase of my own life, but when I've switched my focus to improve my lifestyle I have felt a freedom.

I have stopped trying to be a certain size and avoid foods I enjoy. I now focus on how I feel in my own skin. I look for 1% improvements -not an all or nothing mentality. As it has been said before- something is better then nothing.

The shift has been in my mindset. I'm in this journey for the long haul- not just for the next 30 days.

It isn't always easy- but I strive for balance and grace with myself. More of the 80/20 philosophy. We are all trying our best.

I get it! I am here for you!. I am ready to be your cheerleader and help you light the fire that is still within you.

I also know you're busy and you just don't know how you can find time to focus on yourself.

I am here to tell you- it is time to give yourself the attention you deserve. If you continue to run on empty- you are not giving your best to those around you who love you.

I am a wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, doctor, caregiver, who wears may more hats so I truly understand. We are pulled in so many directions by so many different people in our lives everyday.

I am ready to be there for you.

Are you ready to be there for yourself?
